According to Hi-Tech Talk Display, from the end of 2025 to early May 2026, over 80 LED industry chain companies have issued price adjustment notices (see the price adjustment tracking table at the end of the article), covering the entire chain from chips, packaging, driver ICs, PCBs, to display modules. This round of price increases is characterized by “wide coverage, high frequency of adjustments, and expanding magnitude”—some companies have raised prices twice on top of earlier increases, highlighting the urgency of cost pass-through.
The following are price adjustments made by some driver IC/display control system and supporting PCB material companies from April 24th to May 8th.
■ Colorlight
From April 24 to 29, Colorlight issued two consecutive product price adjustment notices. Effective May 1, its server series products will see price increases of up to 50%; its edge computing terminal series (AX/AI/CM series) will be adjusted based on model, with increases ranging from 20% to 80%. The adjustments are mainly due to rising raw material supply and cost pressures.

■ Chipone
On May 6, Chipone issued a product liaison letter, announcing that effective May 6, 2026, prices for its full range of LED driver products will be uniformly increased by more than 30%. Detailed price adjustment rules for specific models will be confirmed by sales personnel on a case-by-case basis. The price hike stems from volatility in the global semiconductor industry chain, with significant cost increases in wafer fabrication and packaging/testing stages, leaving the company’s internal absorption capacity exhausted.
Chipone stated that it had previously delayed price increases by optimizing operations and compressing profit margins. This adjustment is a reluctant move to ensure production and delivery. The company will continue to improve its supply chain management in an effort to stabilize its pricing system.

■ Fine Made Micro
On May 7, Fine Made Micro issued a liaison letter stating that due to the continuous and significant increase in raw material prices in the LED industry, the company has decided to raise the selling prices of its full range of LED driver products by more than 30% overall, effective May 7, 2026. Specific price adjustments will be based on the company’s quotation.

■ Lipuxin
On May 7, Lipuxin issued a price increase notice stating that prices for its full range of LED driver chip products would be raised by more than 30% effective from the date of the notice. The company explained that rising costs in wafer foundry and packaging/testing, combined with tight capacity, have driven up production and operating costs. This price adjustment is intended to ensure supply chain stability and product quality. Specific prices will be based on the latest quotation.

■ Fujian Lihao Electronics
On April 28, Fujian Lihao Electronics issued a price adjustment notice for copper clad laminates. Due to persistently high copper prices, tight supply of glass fabric, and other raw material factors, the company's production costs for copper clad laminates have risen significantly. Effective April 28, 2026, the company will increase prices for its copper clad laminate products: the HB/VO series will be raised by RMB 3 per sheet, and the 22F/CEM-1/CEM-3/FR-4 series will be raised by RMB 8 per sheet, covering all board thickness specifications.

■ Weilibang Electronics
On April 28, Weilibang Electronics issued a notice stating that due to recent price increases in major raw materials, the company has decided to raise the ex-factory prices of its copper clad laminates effective April 28, 2026: prices for the HB series will be increased by RMB 3 per sheet, and for the 22F and CEM-1 series by RMB 8 per sheet. As an upstream material supplier for LED display PCBs, this price adjustment will further pass through to downstream application segments.

■ Guangdong Jiantao Copper Clad Laminate Sales Co., Ltd
On April 28, Guangdong Jiantao Copper Clad Laminate Sales Co., Ltd. issued a price increase notice. Affected by persistently high copper prices and tight supply of glass fabric, the company’s production costs for copper clad laminates have risen sharply. The company decided to immediately raise prices for FR-4 copper clad laminates and PP materials by 10%, with the adjustment covering all thickness specifications.

■ Summary
Overall, the issuance of price increase letters has recently been faster than the speed at which the news spreads. Hi-Tech Talk Display believes that the core driver of this round of price adjustments is the sharp rise in upstream raw material costs, coupled with a supply gap in driver ICs caused by the shift of 8-inch wafer capacity toward AI chips. This presents a typical characteristic of cost-push transmission.
During this period, Hi-Tech Talk Display also learned from supply chain sources that as upstream costs continue to rise, the ex-factory prices of downstream LED modules are finding it "difficult to remain on the sidelines."
From Q4 of last year to present, quotes for mainstream 1515 packaging have climbed from 3.8 yuan to nearly 5 yuan or higher, with some expectations potentially hitting a high of 6 yuan. With the price hikes in ICs and PCBs, will the trend of "prioritizing modules" seen in Q1 change? Or will we see a phenomenon where both modules and LED beads rise in price together? Hi-Tech Talk Display will continue to monitor the situation.
